In-Home Care Services

Everyday tasks such as showering or brushing your teeth can become challenging but AASC’s In-Home Care Services is here to assist you or your loved one.

Personal Care

Personal Care services are available to individuals who live within the service area of Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell and Tazewell counties, and are long-term care Medicaid-eligible. These individuals meet requirements for nursing home placement but wish to safely remain at home with supportive care. Certified aides work under the supervision of a registered nurse and assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation and transfer assistance, as well as eating. Aides can also assist with instrumental activities of daily living, such as housekeeping and more.

In-Home Care also supports individuals referred by the Veterans Administration and private fee for service individuals.

Homemaker

Homemaker services is a grant-funded program and is offered to individuals who are 60 years or older and meet eligibility criteria with priority given to low-income individuals. Fees are based on the federal poverty guidelines and may be free.

Tasks performed include light housekeeping, meals, shopping and laundry and are instrumental in promoting independence and preventing institutionalization.
