Leadership Workshop Rescheduled
The Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens (AASC) has rescheduled its leadership training for the You Can! Live Well, Virginia! workshop series.
Training will be provided to volunteer leaders during four six-hour classes: February 17, 18, 24, and 25. Lunch will be provided. Training will take
place at AASC’s central location, 216 College Ridge Road, in the Wardell Industrial Park. To sign up or for more information, contact Debbie Barnhart
at 276-964-4915.
Intended to help individuals take charge of their health, the workshop series is designed for people with chronic conditions like diabetes, arthritis,
high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic pain and anxiety. Caregivers of people with chronic diseases may also find the workshop helpful. This
February training is for leaders of the workshops.
You Can! Live Well, Virginia! is made possible by funding from the Administration on Aging, the Virginia Department for the Aging, and the Virginia
Department of Health’s Division of Chronic Disease Prevention and Control.
AASC is one of Virginia’s 25 Area Agencies on Aging designated by the Virginia Department for the Aging to carry out the department’s mission to
foster the dignity, independence and security of older Virginians by promoting partnerships with communities at the local level. AASC offers
