AASC Receives Pet Food Assistance Grant from Banfield Charitable Trust
Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens received a generous grant from Banfield Charitable Trust for pet food assistance. This grant will benefit Meals on Wheels Clients. The grant was designed to promote adequate nutrition for seniors by providing them with food for their pets. Many times, seniors are not able to purchase pet food, therefore share their meals with their pets. By sharing their food, the seniors are not getting adequate nutrition which is a cornerstone for healthy aging.
AASC was able to purchase the pet food from the Richlands Farm Bureau and deliver throughout the four county service area. The recipients have been so thankful to know that not only are they not going to go hungry, but neither is Fido. Thank you Banfield Charitable Trust for this awesome grant.
