AllCARE for Seniors Hires Dr. Tahir Ahmed
AllCARE for Seniors has hired Tahir Ahmed, M.D., to serve as the new medical director for its Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).
Dr. Ahmed will assume responsibility for clinical operations of the primary PACE Center and alternative sites, including delivery of primary care to
patients.
In addition to his employment with AllCARE for Seniors, Dr. Ahmed is a Board Certified internist with Merit Medical Group, Inc. in Richlands, Va., and
an internist and hospitalist with Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands.
He studied internal medicine at Nishtar Medical College, Multan, Pakistan, and Morehouse School of Medicine, Atlanta, Ga.
Dr. Ahmed and his wife live in Richlands with their three children.
AllCARE for Seniors PACE is a program of Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens (AASC) and the Commonwealth of Virginia. It provides patient-centered,
coordinated care to frail elderly individuals living in the community, including Medicare and Medicaid participants.
Care includes social and medical services primarily in an adult day health center, supplemented by in-home and referral services in accordance with the
participant’s needs. Participants in PACE must be at least 55 years old, certified as eligible for nursing home care and live in the PACE service
